April is Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month, and Wright County’s Crisis Nursery is on the front lines for protecting local children who are at risk. The group’s efforts are more critical than ever, as the Crisis Nursery reported it saw a 91 percent increase in client contacts in 2015. 
To help fund their efforts, the organization will host its 19th annual spring fundraiser on Friday, April 21 at River City Extreme in Monticello. The event begins at 6 p.m. and features a chicken and ribs dinner, a raffle for dollars, large silent auction, live auction and a performance by Rocket Man Entertainment-Dueling Pianos. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door.
