Budding artists from every school in the district filled the board room last week, as the school board recognized outstanding art work students have completed this school year. These students’ work currently hangs in the district office and board room.
“We want to make sure our community understands that, among all the other great things we do in the district, we still have a strong emphasis on fine arts,” board member Jeff Lindquist said. “It really brightens up our office and makes this a better place for all of us to come to work.”
Each art teacher in the district was asked to choose one piece of art work to display in the district office for the months of February and March. The artist chosen include:
Charlotte Harris (Bright Beginnings)
Morgan Mitchell (K)
Thomas Hankkila (grade 2)
Steven Hemish (grade 4)
Zachary Marble (grade 3)
Shea Yaeger (grade 4)
Jordan Clarke (grade 5)
Brock Apold (grade 7)
D’Von Berry (grade 8)
Nick Hoefener (grade 7)
Ranier Mauersberger (grade 6)
Hannah Smith (grade 5)
McKinley Beaumont (grade 6)
Brittany Gertzen (grade 6)
Bella Heieie (grade 6)
Erin McDowell (grade 6)
Mason Mogard (grade 5)
Cole Hennen (grade 11)
Joseph Kragness (grade 12)
Molly Meyer (grade 12)
“What a huge honor,” one district art teacher said to the students. “We care about the arts, we care about our kids. We care about each and every one of you.”
