Desiree Trebesch is like most of us – a busy mom, happy wife, healthcare worker with a lot of life ahead of her.
But the Trebesch family was floored two years ago when Desiree was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer. Suddenly, her husband, two boys and friends and family had to scurry to help out at home, and beyond.
Still in the scurry of a cancer fight after more than 32 chemo sessions and three surgeries, the community is rallying for Desiree and her family. This Saturday, March 11, there will be a vendor benefit at Hanover City Hall (11250 5th St. NE) for the Trebesch family as they hope to raise hundreds of dollars for the Trebesch crew. Representatives from Norwex, Origami Owl, Fearless Essentials (By Desiree herself), Thirty-One and more. The benefit will run from noon until 4 p.m.
The fundraiser will help offset costs from an aggressive treatment regimen that Desiree recently went through in Chicago, which sent her on the road every other week. Desiree has also had to change jobs, and her husband Mike retired from paid-on-call position as a firefighter so he could have a more flexible schedule.
