Resource Training and Solutions gave some awards this fall to St. Michael-Albertville school district support staff who have gone above and beyond to excel in their jobs within the schools. The award can go to any staff member who plays a supporting role in keeping schools running smoothly, from bus drivers, cooks, office staff, paraprofessionals and nurses to principals and administrative staff.
Selection criteria included going above and beyond required duties, portraying a positive role model and making a difference every day in the lives of students, staff and community.
112 people were honored this year from 31 different school districts, and 10 of them were from STMA. The local winners were: Jeanette Aanerud, Lisa Becker, Sue Hackenmueller, Jennie Kelly, Teri Odland, Nicole Dewey, Lee Brown, Mark Schmitz, Mary Beth Carlson and Ann-Marie Foucault.
Awardees are nominated from within their school districts, and they receive a plaque and a certificate signed by the governor of Minnesota.
“You all play a role in a student’s story about their education experience,” said keynote speaker Mike Schmidt, principal of the Staples-Motley High School. “Believe in the kids, believe in yourself.”
