Boy, 8, Treated and Released after Accident on Busy Albertville Road

June 29, 2016 By Mike Schoemer

Wright County Sheriff’s Office deputies and the Albertville Fire Department responded to a vehicle vs. bike accident shortly before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28 at the intersection of Wright County Highway 37 -also known as 60th Street – and Kalland Avenue in Albertville.

According to the sheriff’s office, a boy, 8, was crossing the intersection on his bike just using the bikepath/sidewalk located on the south side of Co Rd 37 as driver Tracey Falk, 50, Albertville, was making a right-hand turn from Kalland onto County Highway 37. The boy was struck by the Honda Accord, which was not moving at a high rate of speed.

Albertville Fire and Rescue workers tended to the boy after a 911 call was made. Authorities also contacted the boy’s family. He was transported by his family to Buffalo Hospital and released after treatment for some cuts and bruising.

Wright County Capt. Todd Hoffman said the incident remains under investigation.
