Cancer is no stranger to Tamara Evans. The St. Michael mom of four has battled the vicious disease three times now over the course of seven years.
This time she is battling Stage 4 breast cancer and her friends are rallying support behind her as she undergoes an aggressive six rounds of chemotherapy.
“I’ve known Tamara since we were both in Moms Club years ago. She’s such a great person and does so much for other people that I really wanted to get a group of friends together to do something special for her,” co-event organizer Rhonda Heideman said.
Rhonda and friends have put together a fun Kentucky Derby themed event happening this Saturday in Rogers.
The adults-only event will be open house style with a suggested free will donation of $10 per person. There will be snacks and mint julep drinks, themed baskets up for silent auction, a horse board and of course, a contest for best hat.
Join others from the community to help support Tamara, all proceeds will go directly to her. For more information on her cancer battle you can follow her journey on her Caringbridge site.
