Seven Members of the I-94 West Chamber of Commerce were honored Thursday, April 21, at the annual Business & Community Excellence Awards.
The Business and Community Excellence Awards recognize area businesses, organizations, and community leaders that have had a positive impact on the I-94 West Region in the last year. Nominations were submitted by Chamber Members.
The Awards were presented during a breakfast at the Rogers Community Room and featured a keynote address by Joseph Nayquonable, Commissioner of Corporate Affairs for Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures. In addition, recipients of the 2016 I-94 West Chamber of Commerce scholarships were recognized. Seven students from Rogers High School and St. Michael-Albertville High School received scholarships.
The fifth annual awards ceremony honored the following recipients:
Paul “PT” Thomas of BOB FM accepted the award for Excellence in Innovation, sponsored by Xcel Energy.
The Excellence in Leadership Award was presented to Dawn Sperr of Equity Source Mortgage. The award was sponsored by Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd., represented by Kelly Eull.
Sandra Greninger of Family Youth Community Connections (FYCC) accepted the Philanthropy through Nonprofit Award, presented by David Henningson of award sponsor Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd.
The Community Award, sponsored by Comfort Matters Heating & Cooling, Inc., was presented to Commercial Realty Solutions, LLC. The award was accepted by Wayne Elam, Chereé Hoese, and Sheila Zachman.
Bob Schlicte of Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Hinckley was presented the Business Person of the Year Award, sponsored by 21st Century Bank, represented by Jeff Mueller.
The Young Professional of the Year Award was presented to Jaimie Larson of Jet Edge, Inc. Nate Allen of award sponsor Gries Lenhardt Allen, PLLP, was on hand to present the award.
The Lifetime Achievement Award, also sponsored by Gries Lenhardt Allen, PLLP, represented by Katie Eisler, was presented to Dale Scherber.
State Senator Mary Kiffmeyer (District 30) presented certificates of recognition from the Minnesota State Senate to each award recipient.
