Friends and clients of Grace Farms in rural Rogers have put together a fundraiser for the Leatherdale family after yesterday’s tragic fire.

Clients are now reporting three horses lost in the fire, which leveled the barn area where horses were boarded, an old training area and a commons. The new riding arena was not damaged in the blaze, which is still under investigation.
Family members say Chris Leatherdale, 49, the farm’s co-owner with his wife, Rebecca, was injured in the fire after he tried to save the livestock. He received burns over nearly 40 percent of his body.
Several agencies responded to the fire, which erupted shortly before 5 p.m. Monday, May 23. Tenders were used to fight the fire, as water hydrants weren’t available. More than four departments assisted, along with Rogers Police and Hennepin County Sheriff’s officers.
