The Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA) named St. Michael-Albertville superintendent, Dr. Jim Behle, as a 2016 Administrator of Excellence. Behle received his award last month at a statewide recognition ceremony in Brooklyn Park.
MASA said they chose to honor Behle because of his leadership, his concern for students and his active involvement in professional and community affairs. During his career, Behle implemented and facilitated a Q-Comp program in STMA schools and facilitated the hiring and development of high-performing staff. The St. Michael-Albertville school district is now recognized as one of the best districts in the state. Behle has also been an active advocate for equity in educational funding and for evidence-based staff development practices. He has also served the local community through St. Michael-Albertville’s Rotary Club.
Behle holds a doctorate in planning, policy and leadership studies and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He received his bachelor’s degree in Spanish education from Augustana College in Souix Falls, South Dakota. He plans to retire this summer after six years as St. Michael-Albertville’s superintendent.
Behle has been in the field of education throughout three decades.
