Local St. Michael-Albertville Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will be collecting food donations on Saturday, April 23. The boys will be going door to door collecting items from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Residents are invited to leave donations outside in a bag that says “Scouts” or give to the boys when they arrive. Donations will also be collected at Safe Harbor Church in Albertville.
All food collected will be donated to the Hanover Food Shelf.
“If a scout has not come by your house by 11:30 a.m. please feel free to bring your donation to the drop off location,” said Jessica Liefert. “We only have so many boys to cover our growing towns. We can not possibly hit every house so please be patient with us.”
In addition to non perishable food items, the boys will be collecting: toilet paper, tooth brushes, feminine products, diapers and wipes. Checks payable to Hanover Food Shelf are also accepted.
This year’s goal is 5000 items and $100.
