March 24, 2016 By Mike Schoemer

A Monticello man lost apparently lost control of his vehicle during the Thursday morning commute and collided with a stoplight pole at the intersection of Highway 241 and Lincoln Drive.

Injured was 36-year-old Daniel Banyai of Monticello, the driver and lone occupant of the Lincoln Town Car. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which happened around 7:15 a.m. in St. Michael.

Minnesota_State_Patrol_patchBanyai was treated at the scene by first responders for non-life-threatening injuries, according to a report filed by the Minnesota State Patrol.

St. Michael Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene.

The State Patrol’s report states Banyai was eastbound on 241 when he veered to the right, striking the semaphore pole.
