A 55-year-old Shorewood man is in serious condition after he was injured in a crash with a snowplow on Interstate 94 near Monticello this morning.
Paul A. Boynton, 55, was driving westbound near the County Road 39/County Road 18 interchange at Monticello when he rear-ended the plow, severely damaging his 2012 Ford van.
The MNDot plow was treating Interstate 94 after fog and frost had made the road slippery, particularly along bridge decks.
Boynton was transported via Centra Care Ambulance to the hospital in Monticello. He then was transferred to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale by either ground or air transport Monday morning for his injuries.
The Minnesota State Patrol was also assisted by Monticello Fire and Rescue at the accident scene.
Brad Vance, 47, of Buffalo, was the driver of the plow truck. He was not injured in the incident.
