On December 5th at STMA Middle School West, 159 Girl Scouts participated in a community event that allowed children old enough to walk through 5th grade to come and buy gifts for family and friends, with none of the products for sale costing more than $5. This event gives the children in the community the chance to be part of holiday gift giving. About 400 children from the community participated in shopping at the Girl Scout Children’s Holiday Shopping Mall. In total Almost $8,000 was earned by the 30 troops of girls that participated. Children brought donations for the Hanover Food Shelf. The Girl SCouts would like to thank HealthSource for offering chair massages to the parents and adults while the children shopped. The Girl Scouts would also like to thank the Women of Today and their volunteers who offered a craft activity for the children attending. This event is always the first Saturday of December and we hope you will join us again in 2016. For girls interested in joining Girl Scouts go to www.girlscoutsrv.org/join-us/
