Buffalo Man, 27, Killed in Car Crash

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident and car fire Monday, Dec. 21, and found one man dead as a result of the crash.

Sheriff Joe Hagerty reported that at approximately 5 a.m. Monday, December 21st, the Wright County Communications Center received a report of a car on fire in the 2000 block of 66th Street Northwest in Maple Lake Township.

Wright County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Maple Lake Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene.

Upon arrival Deputies observed that one vehicle had left the roadway, struck a tree, and that the engine compartment was on fire. Cole Joseph Jenkins,  27, Buffalo, was located outside of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
