They’ve only been open a little bit more than a month and already they’re making a big impact on the St. Michael-Albertville community. Some of us, okay me, are wondering how we ever did it without the new locally owned coffee shop in town.
“Things are going well,” owner Matt Kammann said recently. “We’re overall improving and we’re staying busy.”
Busy they are, it’s rare to drive by and not see a slew of cars in the parking lot. Fall has proved to be a good time to open up shop in the community and they’ve got big plans for the holiday season too.
With a community run coat drive benefitting the Salvation Army already in progress, there are other ways Matt and his wife, Lindsay, plan on giving back this December.
This Saturday, Santa, will be on site from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and families will be able to take their own photos at no cost. The store will be collecting toy donations at the door for Children’s Hospital of Minnesota.
Then on December 2, the ladies of the community will take over for the evening.
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. women will be invited in to mingle, shop, sip and give.
Local vendors have been invited in to sell their goods and all will offer free shipping and delivery by December 22. Vendors include: Stella & Dot, Thirty One, Appleberry’s Attic, Amethyst Lane, Knights Armour, Rodan & Fields, Matilda Jane Clothing and Young Living Essential Oils.
In addition to shopping, guests will have the opportunity to give towards Hanover Food Shelf’s Adopt a Family. Dunn Bros St. Michael has adopted a family of six this season and each of the vendors will also be contributing a portion of their proceeds to ensuring the family has a happy Christmas.
While the event is free to attend and shop, Dunn Bros is selling wristbands that will be good for unlimited beer and wine and appetizers [think Tot-chos!] the night of the event. Wristbands are on sale now for $20. Wristbands purchased at the door will cost $25 and only a limited number will be sold.
“It’s a good opportunity to get people in to see what we have and also help showcase other local businesses,” Lindsay said noting that not everyone drinks coffee or has had a reason to stop in.
