The granddaughter of one of the women dislocated by yesterday’s blaze in St. Michael is hoping the community will help get her grandmother and a roommate back on their feet.
The GoFundMe site, established Oct. 16, is hoping to raise money to provide essentials for the two women, who lost most of their belongings in yesterday’s structure fire in The Preserve Townhomes.
Here’s her post:
Loretta is my grandma and has been living with her sister Elaine in St. Michael, MN for the past 3 years. Tonight I received the devastating news that their house burned down and they are left with near nothing for personal possessions or vehicles.
We are so grateful they both got out of the house safely and are looking for a way to help them with short term necessities while the long term housing plan is yet to be determined. Each of them has a son and daughter-in-law nearby where they are currently staying, but they are without basic items such as toothbrushes and clothes.
At this time we are unsure of their ongoing needs, but my hope is that with prayers and support, we can help them with clothes and other basics.
Thank you for taking time to read and for your good thoughts in the coming months!
Love,
Kelli
