Alleluia Lutheran Church is getting into the Halloween spirit, and the spirit of giving, with a pair of events set for Saturday, Oct. 31.
First, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., volunteers from the church will be collecting clothing and food at the Colonial Mall in St. Michael to donate to the Hanover Food Shelf and clothing center. Winter clothes should be new or clean and gently used with working zippers, buttons, etc. Please consider donating items you’d give to a friend.
Then, swing over to the Alleluia Church land, located at 30th Street Northeast and Kadler Avenue, for the annual Trick or Trunk party. Cars and trucks will be parked around the area and kids can “trick-or-treat” right from the back of the vehicles as church volunteers hand out goodies from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Donations to the Hanover Food Shelf and clothing center will be accepted – and are encouraged – during the Trunk or Treat event as well.
It’s the 8th year for these two events, and all proceeds stay right here in our community via the Hanover Food Shelf.
