The Wright County Sheriff’s Office today issued a Level III sex offender alert, in accordance with state law, regarding 25-year-old man relocating to rural Maple Lake.
Sheen Jamale Newton, who was released from St. Cloud prison custody in March 2014, was tried and convicted for engaging in sexual contact with a 10-year-old girl in 2008. He was sentenced to 53 months in prison in December 2008.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is releasing information to the community pursuant to Minnesota Statute 244.052 regarding a Level 3 Predatory Offender.
Sheen Jamale Newton will relocate to rural Maple Lake (Wright County) on September 30, 2015. Offender engaged in sexual contact with a juvenile female victim. Force was used to gain compliance. Offender was known to the victim.
This offender is not wanted by the police at this time and has served the sentence imposed on him/her by the court. This notification is not intended to increase fear in the community. The sheriff’s department reminds residents Newton is NOT wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed on him by the court. The notification is not intended to increase fear in the community, the statement also reads.

Newton’s movements are tracked by his supervisory agent via the sexual offender registration program.
