Albertville firefighters were paged to a rural Otsego home in the 8300 block of Labeaux Avenue Northeast (County Road 19) around 1 p.m. Thursday after witnesses noticed smoke emanating from the structure.
No one was home at the time of the fire, which occurred in one of two houses located on the property. No injuries were reported as Albertville Fire was able to preserve the structure, despite heavy smoke and some fire damage to the upper level of the house.
St. Michael and Monticello fire departments also assisted, said Chief Eric Bullen.
Wright County Fire Investigation is on the scene today to assist with determining the cause of the blaze.
Bullen said the Red Cross was on hand Thursday to assist the family and firefighters on the scene.
Wright County Sheriff’s Office deputies shut down County 19 between 1 p.m. and about 2 p.m. as firefighters were on scene and tenders were needed to haul water to the site of the fire.
