A 57-year-old Anoka man was airlifted to a Minneapolis hospital after he collided with a sedan during the Friday morning commute on Wright County Highway 19 near 70th Street Northeast.
Charles Emerson was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on County 19 when he used the bypass lane to pass a vehicle that was making a turn on to east 70th Street. He was struck by an Infinity G37 driven by Mai Vang, 22, Minneapolis, as it turned on to westbound 70th Street.
Emerson was seriously injured, and transported via LifeLink air ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center. His condition is unkown at this time.
A passenger in the car, 32-year-old Daniel Pella of Minneapolis, also was treated on scene for a head injury, according to a Wright County Sheriff’s report.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, which backed up traffic on the arterial highway for an hour Friday morning.
