David Michael Becker, who was the recipient and honoree at this year’s Chad Smith Ride for Life just two weeks ago in St. Michael, died peacefully at his home Monday, June 29, 2015, after an eight-month battle with Stage IV esophageal cancer. He was 49.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2 at St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, with Fr. Peter Richards presiding. Visitation is set for today, Wednesday, July 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. There will be an hour long visitation prior to the service Thursday, as well.
David was a longtime employee of Cargill in Elk River and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He and his wife, Lynell (Engstrom) had six children.
David is survived by his wife and children; mother, Elanor Becker; siblings; grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
LaDonna Marie Zachman
LaDonna Marie Zachman, died Wednesday, June 24. The mother of St. Michael Mayor Jerry Zachman was 84.
She is also survived by loving children, Bonnie (Donny) Eicher and Kathy (Butch) Marquette all of St. Michael, Cindy (Tom) Uselmann of South Haven, Jerry (Roxann) Zachman and Vince (Brenda) Zachman all of St. Michael, and Sandy (Rudy) Doboszenski of Loretto; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Celestine Fricke of New Hope; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Fricke of Fletcher and Tish Dick of St. Michael; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell J. Zachman; three sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services for LaDonna were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at the church. Further visitation was Friday at the church one hour prior to mass.
A special “thank you” to the staff at the Legacy of St. Michael, especially the memory care unit.

Raymond John “Red” Dorn, 84, died Saturday, June 13. Services were held June 25 and 26 in Buffalo.He was manager of F & D Farm and Home Supply Co. in Buffalo for 16 years, and then manager of the Big Bear Store in Buffalo. He also served on the Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose School District.
Sharol Rae Daluge, 72, St. Michael died Sunday, June 21, 2015. Services were held Thursday, June 25 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover, with visitation a day prior.
