Owners at distractions Bar and Grill in downtown St. Michael are calling it quits, saying this weekend will be their last in business. Last call will be at 1 a.m. Sunday, June 28.
Weekend hours at the 400 Main Ave. E. location will be 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. both Friday/Saturday and Saturday/Sunday.
Owners Jeff Murray and Julie Pittman took over the business from longtime JR’s owners in July 2012. Murray and Pittman were well-known for their Thanksgiving meals, which were offered free to the public in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
In their note, the owners stated: “We want to thank our loyal customers who have supported us over the past three years. Our consistent and regular customers made our decision to close much more difficult. It is difficult being a mom/pop operation, but everyone stayed true and committed to our concept and menu which gave the community a unique dining experience. We are proud to have been a part of the team.”
The note also thanked employees past and present for their hard work and dedication to the restaurant and bar.
Here’s the message, in its entirety:
