The Albertville Lions will host their 7th Annual season of the Albertville Farmers Market kicking off this Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Lions Shelter in downtown Albertville
Last year, thousands of shoppers visited more than two dozen vendors at the shelter in Central Park, which featured local growers from the Albertville and surrounding area.
According to the organizers, the market is a great opportunity for area residents to get fresh produce from local growers. The market also offers a limited variety of food-related products and craft items. The Albertville Farmers Market is unique in that customers are able to shop under a covered shelter out of the rain and in the shade.
The 2015 summer market will run from 3 to 7 p.m. each Thursday from today (June 18) through September 24.
Also, on the second Thursday of each month the Lions will be sponsoring a Concert in the Park from 5 to 7 p.m.. Artists performing at the Concert in the Park series include: Mitch Gordon and the Unleaded Band (June 25), The Shane Martin Band (July 23), and The Castaways (August 27). Crafts and Vendor Fair on the 4th Thursday of each month. A full listing of live music is available via the City of Albertville website.
The Lions will also sponsor three special Car Show nights on the second Thursday of each month. New in 2015 the Lions will be sponsoring a Vintage Tractor Show on the July 30th along with other activities for the Kids. The Lions will offer limited concessions, bratwursts, hotdogs, and refreshment at all Thursday markets throughout the month.
There will be both covered and open vendor space available at the market. Vendors can choose from an 8 x 8 covered booth or a 12 x 12 open booth.
