Lauren Loeffler, a ninth-grader at St. Michael-Albertville High School, was recently installed as state president of the Minnesota State Society of the Children of the American Revolution.
The installation service was held on the grounds of George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate and was part of the National Convention of the C.A.R. held in Arlington, Virginia April 17 to 19.
As state president, Lauren will serve on the National Board and travel around the country to help present this year’s national C.A.R. programs to the members. Her State Project is to raise money to sponsor a veteran’s travel to Washington, D.C. on an honor flight.
The Children of the American Revolution is the oldest patriotic youth organization in the United States. Membership is open to anyone under the age of 21 who is a direct descendant of a person who rendered aid to the cause of American Independence.
