A man shouting obscenities and waving a handgun was apprehended near the Monticello Middle School Monday afternoon, according to scanner recording obtained by PoliceClips.com and multiple social media reports.
It’s been a busy stretch for Wright County Sheriff’s Office deputies in Monticello and around that area. There was a high-speed chase through Monticello and into Sherburne County overnight Monday. Another high-speed chase involving a motorcycle interrupted traffic along School Boulevard and other routes near the high school Monday afternoon, followed by the gunman’s apprehension on Third Street East within moments of him reportedly stopping along side the road on Monday as well.
