Imagine coming home from work one afternoon to find everything you’d worked for was completely gone, blown away like ash in the win.
It’s a struggle the Telfer and Eckroth families area dealing with, owners of two of a handful of homes lost in Wednesday’s blaze that ripped through an Otsego development on a windy afternoon.
The Telfers lost their two dogs, and their four-month-old home was completely gutted by the fire. The family – including Jen and Bryan and four girls – is left with nothing but the clothes and possessions they had that weren’t in their house. That’s limited, pretty much, to the clothes on their backs, phones, and vehicles that weren’t home at the time.
The Eckroths – who have two children, also saw their home destroyed by the smoke and flames.
Several groups are collecting clothes for the kids. Bryan Telfer gave these details:
“Here is a list of our girls ages and sizes. Please feel free to bless us with your extras…and whatever we can’t use, we will donate to CROSS for you,” he wrote.

In St. Michael and Albertville – both Crossfit STMA and Health Source Chiropractic are collecting donations at their locations. Please do NOT leave items outside the buildings, however, as they might be missed.
Here’s a GoFundMe site for the family, as well, where monetary donations can be made to help get the family back on its collective feet:
