Jordyn Walker, the St. Michael-Albertville senior who has been part of the ongoing tradition of success in girls’ soccer for the Knights, will lace up her cleats this fall at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minn.
Walker led the squad with 25 points, including 12 goals and one assist for the Knights. She was the leading offensive threat on a team that went 13-3, captured the Section 8-AA title and a share of the Mississippi 8 Conference before falling to Lakeville North in the State AA quarterfinal, 3-1.
“She’s definitely got a nose for the ball and knows how to finish,” said head coach Megan Johnson of her senior prior to that tournament. “It gives the rest of the team a lot of confidence when you have someone like that up front who can finish around the goal.”
