Research indicates that when it comes to making positive changes to your healthy habits, those who surround themselves with a support system are more likely to succeed in making positive changes and sustaining them over time. Its the difference between thinking about becoming healthier and actually doing it for many people. Support systems can come in many forms – formal group settings, friends and family, personal trainers, even online.
One of the best online support systems I have recently discovered are called the Meltdown Challenges. These challenges help participants in the areas of education, motivation, and support, using friendly competition and awarding points for completion of small daily tasks meant to help develop good habits! Participants can choose either to lose weight or maintain their current weight. A small fee is required as an “ante”, and goes into a pool to be divided among challenge winners. Participants can use whichever diet plan they feel suits them best.
