Here we go again.
In yet another move to clear the way for Sunday Liquor Sales in Minnesota, bi-partisan bills have been introduced this session in both the Minnesota House and Senate to repeal the state’s limitations on Sunday liquor sales.
Though the movement still faces sharp criticism from the Minnesota Teamsters Union (which includes many of the state’s licensed beverage distributors) and Minnesota Licensed Beverage Association members, members of both chambers on each side of the aisle are saying Sunday sales, which are allowed in states like Wisconsin and the Dakotas, are a case of “not if, but when.”
So, where do you lie on the issue? Do you believe alcohol should be sold in liquor stores only Monday through Saturday? Or, should the state lift the ban and allow stores to open on Sundays here in Minnesota? Finally, could there be some sort of compromise, where bars are OK’d to sell beer and liquor “off-sale” on Sundays, while stores remain closed?
