The St. Michael-Albertville boys’ swim team continues to make waves against stout competition as the season rolls along.
Last weekend, the Knights headed to the University of Minnesota, for the annual Maroon and Gold Invite. The Knights competed in the top ranked Gold Division, and put in noteworthy performances against elite programs from the metro area and from Nebraska, Wisconsin, and New Jersey.
Grant Moser and Max Lezer led the individual events. Moser finished 10th in the 200 free and 8th in the 100 fly. Lezer finished 10th in the 200 individual medley and 10th in the 500 free. Sophomore Cole Meyer took the top spot for the Knights in the diving competition, placing 10th and Hanos Mahari finished in 15th.
Head coach Kelli Nadeau praised performances by Ryan Marhula and Drew Roberts who both swam personal bests in the 100 breaststroke.
Will Gallagher, Max Lezer, Braden Wermager, Grant Moser, and Ryan Everly have combined their freestyle speed to put together two strong relay teams. The 200 freestyle relay of Gallagher, Lezer, Wermager, and Moser finished 8th and the 400 freestyle relay of Gallagher, Lezer, Everly, and Moser finished 11th.
The Knights continued action Thursday vs. Buffalo. Results weren’t available at the time of this post, but will come next week.
