St. Michael-Albertville High School is one of 547 schools across the United States and Canada to be named to the 5th Annual AP Honor Roll.
STMA is one of 10 schools in Minnesota to receive the honor and one of only six Minnesota schools to receive the honor for multiple years.
The honor recognizes STMA High School for its dedication to delivering advanced courses by increasing access to Advanced Placement (AP) course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams.
The College Board, who sponsors AP courses, cites schools on the honor roll as those who successfully identify motivated, academically prepared students who are likely to benefit from rigorous AP course work.
STMA offers 11 AP courses in mathematics, English, music theory, psychology, microeconomics, probability and statistics, physics, art and history. In 2014, 189 students took 278 AP exams with 76 percent scoring 3 or higher. The Minnesota state average was 66 percent and the global average 61 percent.
