Some quick thinking by Wright County Sheriff’s Office deputies has four people facing charges in Wright County District court after a car chase ended in St. Michael Thursday afternoon.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, deputies observed a stolen 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Sedan traveling eastbound on Wright County Highway 35 shortly before 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11.
Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of County Road 35 and Jamison Avenue, but the Fleetwood attempted to flee the scene. A short pursuit ensued, ending approximately one mile away in the area of Kalberg Court and Kahlen Avenue Northeast, St. Michael.
The four occupants were apprehended and arrested.
The driver, Adam Switala, 25, of Monticello, was arrested for fleeing a peace officer, receiving stolen property, driving after revocation and fifth degree controlled substance.
Passenger Ashley Garvey, 21, Coon Rapids, faces charges of receiving stolen property and fifth degree controlled substance possession.
Passenger Andrea Aviles, 32, Big Lake was arrested for receiving stolen property, fifth degree controlled substance possession and possession of hypodermic needles.
Passenger Kyle Leseman, 24, Elk River, was arrested for possession of stolen property, fifth degree controlled substance violation and introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.
The Cadillac was reported stolen Wednesday, Dec. 10 from a residence in Monticello Township.
All four arrested will appear on charges today or early next week in Wright County District Court.
