Reminder: Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday

Turn those clocks ahead before heading to bed on Saturday night.

October 28, 2014 By Mike Schoemer

Ever heard the story of the guy who showed up at 9:30 a.m. Sunday for 10:30 a.m. Mass services?

Well, that could be you if you forget to “fall back” this weekend, as Daylight Saving Time ends across the United States at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2.

TimePieceWright County and the rest of Minnesota, of course, will return to Central Standard Time (CST), just in time for the election next week.

Daylight Saving Time started on March 9, in case you’re curious. It will start again next year on March 8, 2015 at 2 a.m. sharp.

The fire chiefs from St. Michael and Albertville fire departments remind everyone that when it’s time to change those clocks, it’s also a great time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors need fresh batteries at least once per year, and the perfect time to remember to see if those batteries are still working is when you’ve been shuffling around the house, changing all those clocks you forgot you had.

Remember – smoke detectors and CO detectors save lives!
