Patrick Spaeth, 81, Fridley, died Friday, Oct. 24. Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Columbia Heights, with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27 at Peterson Chapel in St. Michael.
Spaeth, one of 15 children born and raised on a farm near Mahnomen, served in the Korean War and worked at Honeywell in the Twin Cities.
Later, he took on a teaching career and was an instructor in the Columbia Heights School District for three decades.
He was well-known for his “Grandpa’s Toast” baked bread, as well as his kindness and love of his family.
He’s survived by six kids, 17 children, 10 great-grandchildren and fourt brothers and a sister, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lorna M. Witte, Monticello, formerly of Rockford, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014. Services were held at Cross Lutheran Church, Rockford on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Delphine G. Schleif, 91, Buffalo, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014 at Buffalo Hospital. Services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover Monday, Oct. 24.
