St. Michael Fire Department Open House Set

Meet a local hero next Saturday, Oct. 4 when the St. Michael Fire Department hosts its annual open house at the station on Main Avenue South from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be tours of the station, some educational materials, trucks on display for kids and adults (including the new rescue rig) and some good food.

In September fire calls, the department responded to the following incidents:

Sept. 4
The St. Michael Fire Department (SMFD) responded to a medical call 100th block of Terrace Road for a 18 month old having difficulty breathing.
The department responded to a medical call in the 300th block of Central Avenue NE for a unconscious male.

Sept. 5
The department responded to a fire alarm call in the 200th block of Main Street S.  It was a false alarm.

The department responded to a medical call in the 2000th block of Lander Avenue NE for a male suffering from burns to his hands and face.

Sept. 8
The department responded to a medical call in the 800th block of Welter Road SE for a 6-year-old having difficulty breathing.
The department responded to a fire alarm call in the 13000th block of 45th Place NE.   It was a false alarm.
The department responded to a fire call in the 9000th block of 56th Street NE in Otsego for a possible structure fire.  They were cancelled en-route.

 Sept. 9
The department responded to a medical call in the 5000th block of Jamison Avenue NE for a student hurt during football practice.

Sept. 10
The department responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of St. Michael Parkway E and 1st Street NE.

Sept. 11
SMFD responded to a medical call 400th block of Creekside Drive SE for a 83-year-old male who had collapsed.

Sept. 14
The department responded to a medical call in the 10th block of Front Street NE for an intoxicated male bleeding from his face.

Sept. 15
The department responded to a gas leak in the 500th block of Sumerlin Circle NE.

Sept. 18
SMFD responded to a medical call 4000th block of Lange Avenue NE for a female with low blood pressure

Sept. 21
The department responded to a medical call in the 4000th block of Naber Avenue NE for a 70-year-old male having a possible stroke.

Sept. 23
The department responded to a medical call in the 4000th block of Nason Parkway NE for a male who had fallen down the stairs.
SMFD responded to a medical call in the 4000th block of Lange Avenue NE for a male with high blood pressure.  They were cancelled en-route.
