Albertville’s Shock City Verizon was closed earlier this month, despite the latest frenzy behind Apple’s release of the latest iPhone products.
A sign at the store directed customers to the nearest national Verizon store, which is located 8 miles up the road in Monticello.
Store employees were notified of the closure via email and phone calls, one source said.
Shock City, which owns mall kiosks and storefronts in Iowa and Minnesota, took over the Albertville store in 2011.
North Wright County Today has placed an inquiry with the company behind the closing. To date no comment has been returned.
