St. Michael-Albertville Rotary and Shop Saint Michael are seeking nominations for St. Michael’s “Holiday Cheermeister.” This special person will have the honor of lighting St. Michael’s holiday tree during the 3rd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration, set for Dec. 1 at St. Michael City Center.
Nominees for Holiday Cheermeister must be either St. Michael residents, be involved in a St. Michael organization or own or work at a St. Michael business. Nominees should be actively involved in the St. Michael community, embody the holiday spirit, and exemplify Rotary’s Four-Way Test, which asks: Of the things we think, say or do: 1.Is it the TRUTH?, 2.Is it FAIR to all concerned?, 3.Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4.Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Nominations will be accepted through Nov. 10. The Holiday Cheermeister will be selected by Shop Saint Michael and STMA Rotary and announced in mid-November.
The 2014 Holiday Tree Lighting celebration is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1. This festive event will include caroling by the St. Michael-Albertville High School Chamber Choir, and live jazz performances by the STMA High School Gold Jazz Band, kids’ activities, holiday stories, photos with Santa and much more.
Jim Pichler was named as the first ever Cheermeister in 2012. Last year, Ike and Karol Eichelberg did the honors of lighting the tree.
