A Maple Lake man who caused a destructive three-car accident on Highway 55 in Buffalo has been sentenced to serve time in Wright County Jail and send a letter of apology to the people he injured.
Didrick John Lipponen , 27, Maple Lake, was sentenced last month to a total of four months in jail for Gross Misdemeanor Criminal Vehicular Operation as well as $300 fine; and 245 days in jail stayed for six years on conditions of probation. Lipponen will also pay surcharges, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, attend Awareness Panel for Impaired Drivers, write a letter of apology, attend a support group, undergo a chemical dependency assessment and follow all recommendations, pay restitution, serve periods of 30 days on electronic home monitoring at the discretion of probation agent, have no same or similar violations.
