Any girl would love to be queen for a day.
For a Minnesota “princess,” that dream became a reality, thanks to the work of the Albertville Royalty Program, members of the 2014-2015 Albertville Royal Court, and the help of several local businesses.
This weekend, the program hosted Alysta, who lives more than three hours away from Albertville, to help deliver a wish via the Make-A-Wish Program.
Alysta and her mother (parents’ names are usually protected via the privacy act for the sake of the family) were transported to Albertville Friday night, and hosted at the Country Inn and Suites hotel here in Albertville.
Then, after much primping and a lot of pampering, Alysta joined the Albertville Royalty group in a parade on Saturday, riding in the Miss Albertville seat on the city’s float.
Here’s the rest via the Albertville Royalty Program:
“It’s the event of the year for every Royal Court…our Make-A-Wish sponsorship of a little girl to be Queen for a Day! It began the NIGHT before the parade this year! Alysta lives over 3 hours away. So instead of making the long ride in the morning, the Royal Court/family arranged for her and her family to stay right here in Albertville at the Country Inn and Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Albertville, MN. They kindly donated 1 room and the other was paid for by other contributions from Don’s Auto in Albertville, and WESTAIR Corporation in Hanover. A PINK stretch LIMO (Donated by Royal Rides, LLC) surprised the family at the hotel to take them and the court to The Lookout Bar and Grill where they received a complimentary dinner. There was a big surprise waiting as well! Royal dad Mikal presented the mom with a check for $1000 AND a month of bills paid by Bell State Bank and Trust! Then it was back to the Limo and back to the hotel for a fun night of bonding and swimming. But, not too late, because TOMORROW was her BIG day!
Alysta and the court began their day early with breakfast at the hotel, then the primping…Hair (Hair Quest By Janette Descamps) and make-up, painted fingernails, a BEAUTIFUL white gown (donated by River Inn Bar & Grill), a CROWN placed on her head, a sash, especially made for her (donated by C&C Embroidery ) and the royal pins placed on the sash, including her “Queen’s” pin! And she was given a special crown box to take it all home in! Now, off to ride in her parade. She and the rest of the Albertville Royal court rode in the Osseo Lion’s Roar parade and what a beautiful day it was! Alysta mingled with other communities, waved and smiled from ear to ear! She was a beautiful Queen! After the parade, everyone went to DQ for refreshments. There, she was surprised with a gift basket of items donated by local businesses; Premier Bank – $50 giftcard, Book Warehouse, Lindt’s Chocolates, Icing by Claire’s – necklace and Yankee Candle. And to make things even more memorable, Royal dad, Dave Green gave his time and incredible talent in capturing every moment of ALL these activities on camera! Priceless pictures and everlasting memories! Without everyone’s donations, dedications, and desire to make this event unforgettable we could have never done it. 2014-15 Royal Court…BRAVO!”
