State Patrol Investigating Fatal Accident in Wright County

August 14, 2014 By Mike Schoemer

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the second fatal motorcycle accident in Wright County in less than a month after a man was struck and killed Thursday, August 12.

The incident happened on U.S. Highway 12 near Montrose at around 9:30 Thursday morning. According to a preliminary report filed by MSP, a rider on a 2003 Suzuki was struck when the motorcycle collided head-on with a 2003 Chevrolet Impala.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the car was not hurt in the accident.

The accident comes less than four weeks after a beloved doctor from Buffalo was killed in a motorcycle crash near Lake Francis.

Dr. Eric Lefebvre, who practiced in Monticello and Buffalo, was killed when he was thrown from his bike after a man driving a golf cart pulled in front of him.

A Chaska man has been charged with careless driving after authorities determined he pulled his golf cart out in front of the motorcycle on a Wright County Highway.

North Wright County Today will have more on this accident when MSP makes information available.
