Four Young Women Aiming for Miss Hanover Crown

July 31, 2014 By Mike Schoemer

Four local teens are vying for the title of Miss Hanover, and the opportunity to represent the Wright County river town in local festivals around the region for 2014-2015.

Two of the four will be awarded their crows at coronation during Hanover Harvest Festival, set for 3 p.m. at the Settlers Park Main Stage on Saturday, Aug. 2.

The candidates are:

Mallory Gutknecht, sponsored by Maverick Construction;

Mackenzie Malewicki, sponsored by the Hanover Fire Department;

Sydney Segelstrom, sponsored by Comfort Matters; and

Danialle Steman, sponsored by Roy C. Inc.

Selections are based on awards and accomplishments, community activities, offices/club memberships/organizational involvement, and future educational and career aspirations. Contestants will be further judged on such things as poise, dress, speech, interview answers and their impromptu answer to a question drawn randomly.

The new twosome will take over for Krystle Brown, Miss Hanover, and Emma Gutknecht, current princess.

This is the fifth year for the Hanover Royalty Program.
