Wright County Road 35 Closed West of Buffalo Due to High Water

June 16, 2014 By Mike Schoemer

The Wright County Highway Department has closed a major highway through the county due to high amounts of water on the roadway.

Wright County Highway 35 is closed to traffic near Wright County Highway 7, a couple of miles west of the city of Buffalo. Highway 35 connects Buffalo to Maple Lake to the west, and St. Michael to the east.

Barricades have been placed on the road, and drivers will have to use a detour (which is not fully posted at this time), so commuters should plan ahead.

The road will be re-opened when water recedes, but that could be a while. Tonight’s forecast calls for heavy rains overnight, and there’s a high probability of more precipitation on Wednesday, June. 18.
