A prescribed burn in the Crow-Hassan Regional Park, operated by the Three Rivers Park District, was conducted today, May 7.
The burn Wednesday morning sent smoke billowing over The southern portion of St. Michael and northern Hanover.
Flames charred dry grass and brush on the east side of the Crow River, which borders the park.
The burn should wrap up this afternoon, before rain hits the area tonight.
