St. Michael and Albertville’s annual Spring Clean-up Day is set for 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, May 3, at the Public Works facility near Recreational Park at 3150 Lander Avenue NE in St. Michael.
Residents – no contractors are allowed – must show identification and must be from St. Michael or Albertville. Hazardous wasted, such as paints, stains and chemicals, will not be accepted.
Cost of r a level pickup box or small trailer, filled to the top of the box, is $40. Large trailers and piles level with the pickup cab is $60.
Individual items, such as grills, box springs, recliners and couches, may cost extra if not part of a load.
Bikes, car and marine batteries, chainsaws and used oil and antifreeze may be brought in at no charge. The bikes are donated to a local program for kids.
The Salvation Army will also be on hand this year to pick up clothing items residents might wish to drop off.
No lawn clippings or brush will be accepted at this time. However, the compost sites at both the St. Michael Public Works building and off McAlister in Albertville are open to residents at this time for dropoff.
