St. Michael-Albertville will get a taste of Las Vegas with this year’s annual Family Youth Community Connections (FYCC) Fundraiser, set for 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24 at the St. Michael City Center.
The centerpiece of the evening, which raises funds for local youth programming in St. Michael, Albertville and Hanover, will be the Dueling Duo Dueling Pianos Request Show, featuring musicians Andy Gibson and Ryno of South Dakota.
It’s one of the most well-traveled and well-received shows in the Upper Midwest, said FYCC Coordinator Sandra Greninger.
“It’s high energy and really entertaining,” she said. “We’re really lucky to get them. Just having them onstage is going to make it a really fun night.”
St. Michael-based FYCC (it’s officed in the St. Michael City Center) has touched nearly every kid in the area over the past two decades. From Mother-Son hoedowns and Father-Daughter dances to seasonal bingo events and the annual Bike Rodeo, the FYCC brings a slew of events to the community for local kids.
This fundraiser is one of the events that keeps FYCC rolling, Greninger said. At $20 a ticket, it’s a night out for the adults as they support the programming aimed at kids throughout the area.
“In the schools, we do the Moms and Muffins and Dads and Doughnuts events, so everyone has seen us,” she said. “It’s just a matter of keeping it going so we can continue to grow with the community.”
Tickets are on sale now at St. Michael City Hall. The adults-only night will include snacks and a cash bar. A limited number of tickets will be sold (due to the venue’s size), so contact FYCC at 763-416-7912 with any questions.
