Donated Pony Needs a New Name at St. Michael Library

April 8, 2014 By Mike Schoemer

The St. Michael-Albertville-Hanover Community Library needs your help naming a new friend.

The St. Michael branch of Wells Fargo Bank (located in Marketplace Grocery Store)  has donated one of their large stuffed ponies to the St. Michael Public Library.

Sheena Nelson, store manager for the Wells Fargo Branch stopped by the library  Monday, April 7 to drop off the new addition.

Marla Scherber of the STMA-Hanover Community Library and Sheena Nelson of Wells Fargo Bank of St. Michael pose with a new friend. The pony needs a clever name, so the library is hosting a “name the pony” contest through April 18.

The Wells Fargo branch gets one large stuffed pony a year they can donate, and this year, the library was the lucky recipient.

The pony needs a name, so the library will have a “Name Our Pony” contest to help decide what may best fit the large stuffed animal, said head librarian Marla Scherber.

Scherber invites library patrons to “stop by the library to fill out a name suggestion and to visit our new friend.”

The naming contest will run through April 18.
