The most recent winter storm, which dropped a foot of snow on some areas in St. Michael last Thursday, Feb. 20, will force St. Michael-Albertville School District Students to make up the day in late May.
District 885 administrators made the decision to postpone school two hours Thursday night, and then pulled the trigger on a full cancellation when the winds kicked up to 30 mph on Friday, creating horrible road conditions around the Twin Cities.
The STMA School Board decided earlier this year to designate May 30 as the makeup date for any new cancellations, after students did attend school on President’s Day earlier this month to make up for cancellations in January.
STMA’s last day of school is set for May 30, thanks to the removal of a “spring break” week this year. It’s a week earlier than it has been the past two years.
