The Minnesota State Patrol confirms a semi truck driver has been killed in a fiery accident this morning, Wednesday, Feb. 10.
According to traffic reports from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, traffic is backed up along Interstate 94 westbound west of Brockton Lane and east of the County Highway 81/Minnesota Highway 101 interchange in Rogers after the semi lost control and left the roadway, entering the north ditch on the westbound lane of Interstate 94. It’s unclear as to what caused the truck to lose control and head off the road near the FedEx distribution center.
Officials searched for the driver for several minutes, only to discover him deceased. His name and information will be released by the Minnesota State Patrol as soon as relatives are notified of the incident, which happened shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Traffic backups were as far east as Maple Grove Parkway along I-94 as the far right lane and the right shoulder on the westbound lane were closed off to traffic.
North Wright County Today will have more information on the incident when it’s available.
