The family of a 9-year-old Albertville boy who died unexpectedly last week has announced funeral services for early this week.
Tyson Jerome Kinney, a third-grader at Big Woods Elementary School in St. Michael, died Thursday, Nov. 13 at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.
A visitation for Tyson will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17 at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Albertville, with a prayer service for the Kinney family at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 at St. Albert’s, with Father Xavier Thelakkatt presiding.
Tyson is survived by his dad, Brandon Kinney, of Elk River; his mother, Jessica (Vetsch) Kinney, of Albertville; a brother, Owen, 10; a sister, Maya, 1; grandparents Elizabeth Vetsch and Trent (Judy) Kinney; aunts, uncles, 18 cousins and many other family and friends.
He’s preceded in death by grandparents Dale Vetsch and Cheryll (Huggett) Lehn.
Peterson Chapel of St. Michael-Albertville is assisting the families.
