A semi tractor and trailer has tipped on westbound Interstate 94 this morning, closing half of the westbound lane on the freeway as many vacation-seekers look to get out of the city for this weekend.
The incident happened before 10 a.m. this morning, but crews are still on scene cleaning up the mess and attempting to right the trailer with trucks.
It appears no one was seriously hurt, but traffic is backed up for at least six miles from west of Highway 25, where the incident occurred, to the Wright County Highway 37 exits in Albertville.
One witness reported it took him nearly a full hour to move between St. Michael and Monticello shortly after the crash.
It’s the second incident on westbound 94 in just four days. An Albany man was injured and airlifted to North Memorial after his GMC truck clipped a fuel hauler on Monday afternoon.
North Wright County Today will have more on this as it becomes available.
